The Associate of Arts Degree can lead into a Major or Minor Bachelor of Arts Degree program at a university. You can specialize in fields like anthropology, economics, geography, mathematics, politcal science, psychology, and more.

1. One of: 
- High school graduation or equivalent
- One course short of BC secondary school graduation
- 19 years old by the end of the first month of the first semester of attendance
- 17 years old on the first day of the first semester of attendance and has not been in school for at least one year
- Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years

2. English 12 (C) or equivalent

Note: based on both course and provincial exam grades


Academic Admission Requirement

1. Students currently in Grade 12 may submit interim transcripts for the above requirements.

2. Associate of Arts - Future Teachers specialization option has additional specific admission requirements. Refer to the program profile for details.

Admission Advice

Admissions to open-enrollment programs are offered on a first-qualified, first-admitted basis. Students are encouraged to apply early. September intake- applications are open in early October of the previous year until August (or until the end of the 1st week of the Fall semester). January intake- applications are open in early February of the previous year until December (or until the end of the first week of the Winter semester). May intake- applications are open in early June of the previous year until April (or until the end of the first week of the Summer semester). Verify with the institution for specific dates.
